Effective and ethical business communication is vital. Students must ensure they understand the correct tone of voice to use and formatting standards when sending an email.

Correct referencing is another vital part of your tertiary education. You must be able to correctly reference your work to avoid academic misconduct.

The following task will bring together both of these skills.

A student has just sent you the following email:

Hi
I have just had to go to see the Academic Integrity Officer. SO ANGRY! She said that I copied part of my assignment from Joe Smith who did this course last semester. How did she know? She said something about a Turnitin report. She also said that I did not format the reference list correctly and had no intext references for the part I wrote. SO WHAT!? They were all my own words, I did not copy! She told me that I have to resubmit with correct references and reference list. Can you please help me? Here is a list of my references.
