Three ways I found to be helpful with fostering creativity in the workplace are being supportive, encouraging different work practices, and using effective techniques. By being supportive of all team members ideas and empowering them to think outside the box will allow everyone to feel valued. This is important for all team members to feel safe to share their ideas and not feel that their idea is not worth the thought. Not all team members ideas will be implemented but they will all be supported. By encouraging different work practices and having a diverse team it allows group of employees to work together that would not usually work together. People with different business training, backgrounds, strengths and weaknesses all working together helps sparks remarkable ideas. By using effective techniques such as brainstorming in small groups can help team members bounce ideas of each other and spark new ideas. I feel these three practices are a good base start to fostering creativity in the work place.
