Hydrarch - Kinds of Succession
When succession takes place in a wet area, that is, succession progresses from hydric to mesic conditions. This can be further subdivided as:
- Hydrosere - when succession starts in fresh water ecosystems like ponds, pools, lakes and marshes;
- Halosere -when succession starts in saline water ecosystems, e.g., mangroves, coral reefs, estuaries.
