How you value what a diverse candidate can bring to table

Problem: The number of women working in technology has increased but only by a tiny percentage, according to an article I read, in 2019 women held 23% of tech jobs at Apple which rose by 3% from 2014, and Facebook increased from 15%-23%, Google 17%-23%, and at Microsoft 17%-20%.  Women over 35 in tech jobs are 3.5 times more likely to be in junior positions, make up to 3% less money than men with the same job title and only 12% of women hold an Executive position in the tech world, and this data does not include the numbers for women of color (it's worse)  The actions taken to tackle the issue of diversity is still the same familiar tactics from many  years before and nothing will change until diversity becomes a real priority.   Tech companies need to start asking how they define what a good candidate is and how you value what a diverse candidate can bring to the table.  Companies can also participate in building an intern program with historically black colleges and universities or creating a mentoring program for women
