Problem
A group of people are taking a trip on a chartered boat. The weather turns stormy, and the boat collides with another boat, causing multiple serious injuries to many on board. Fortunately, the captain of the chartered boat is able to notify the cast Guard, who airlifts the injured to the nearest hospital. Ten people require life support in the form of mechanical ventilation. Unfortunately, the small local hospital has only eight ventilators and two are already in use for critically ill patients. The hospital is far from a large medical center. The severe weather and unstable conditions of the patients prohibit transfer to another hospital. Which patients get the ventilators?
