In the correctional institution world, I think I would take the role of a probation officer. My daily tasks would include supervising those on probation to ensure the safety of the community, while also getting the offender prepared for the outside world. I have taken a class on probation and parole, and the roles seems interesting because you basically get to set someone's new life up. I was able to research stable jobs, housing, while also maintaining the requirements of the offenders situation whether that be that they need to stay away from schools, or away from animal shelters if they have a past in animal abuse. I think this would be a good job for me as I want to allow the offender to have some freedoms while trying to get back on their feet. A job in the correctional institution that I would not want would actually be a correctional officer. you have to be strict and have your eyes on the offenders at all times, forcing you to interact with them daily. while I would interact with a probationer, I would feel more safe due to the fact that they are out in the world and not incarcerated.
