People flying on airplanes or walking through the cold Bering Strait (how humans first entered the Americas) cannot have caused these African diseases--malaria, yellow fever, schistosomiasis--to become endemic in the New World, since that route is too cold and long for the vectors to come along. How then did those diseases reach the Americas? (Hint: think about history and travel between Africa and the Americas)
