Question: This longitudinal study explored how technology engagement affects memory and cognitive functioning among older adults living in care centers in Jordan. Researchers followed 470 adults aged 65 and older over a two-year period and examined how technology use influenced memory performance and executive functioning. The findings showed that older adults who used technology more frequently demonstrated stronger memory performance and improved executive functioning over time. The study also found that increased technology use predicted better cognitive outcomes in later years, suggesting that regular engagement with digital tools may help support mental functioning in older adulthood.
