How student-athletes fairly compensated in todays landscape

Problem

I. Considering the increase in revenues generated at major D-I universities, how should student-athletes be fairly compensated in today's economic landscape? Is an athletic scholarship (perhaps full COA + stipend) adequate, or is more compensation needed?

II. Should that apply to all sports, or just those producing revenue (typically Football & Men's Basketball)? Should that apply to all D-I (including NDSU/UND for example) or just the top schools? How about in D-II, should it apply to them also?

III. What if by increasing student-athlete compensation in a few sports that meant schools would cut several of their non-revenue sports to reduce expenses? Would that change your analysis?
