American philosopher and educator John Dewey has been credited with the idea that "we do not actually learn from experience as much as we learn from reflecting on experience" (Posner, Field Experience: A Guide to Reflective Teaching (Pearson 2005, p. 21).
Reflection is a valuable learning tool for the classroom and for professionals in practice: Both groups can learn from reflecting on their successes and failures and the steps that led to these outcomes.
Therefore, I want you to think about, reflect carefully on, and answer these questions honestly regarding the HFMA Business of Healthcare Exam. Then prepare a 2-3 page (times new roman, 12 point font, 1" margins all around) double-spaced paper at a minimum addressing the following questions.

2. In reflecting on your approach to exam preparation, did you concentrate your studying primarily on the HFMA material, did you try and relate course material to the HFMA content, etc.?
3. How soon prior to the exam did you start to study for it?
4. Was most of your studying done in the last week before the exam?
5. Did you review the course materials to truly understand them for your career, or where you mainly trying to concentrate on memorizing what you thought you needed to know for the test?
6. On average, how many solid, quality hours did you honestly put into preparation for the exam?
