How social worker began the conversation

Problem:

The social worker (SW) began the conversation by obtaining consent for treatment and explained everything on the consent form. SW introduced me as an intern. Yves stated, "everything was okay her parents were in the Dominican Republic and that she is really busy." SW asked Yves if she could recap her story of adoption for me, and Yves agreed. Yves started to share her experience with Skyler, explaining that Skyler was just 24 days old when she entered foster care, while Jada was 4 years old at that time. Yves expressed that she has a strong attachment to Skyler because she got her when she was so young. She elaborated on how she ended up adopting the girls, noting that her parents were too old to adopt, which led her to step in. She mentioned that the adoption process was finalized in May 2020, and Jada had entered foster care in 2013. Yves shared that her mother met the biological father, describing him as having a "very scary looking face," while she found the biological mother to be more approachable. Yves also mentioned that they had never heard from the biological parents since the adoption was finalized; the only contact was from the girl's half-brother, who lives in Tennessee, via his grandmother. Yves stated that she shared this information with Jada, saying, "She not ready." SW inquired whether they would attend the next event, "Stop Drop and Connect." Yves replied that they would be attending. Need Assignment Help?
