Part I: Conflict/Negotiation Styles
For the Unit I Assignment, you will complete two parts:
Part 1: Complete the Negotiation Style Self-Assessment located here. Once you have completed the self-assessment, write a response that includes the following:
• A description of your conflict style results
• How you feel this information can be useful to you as you negotiate with others
• When your style is appropriate and inappropriate
• What bargaining tactics you prefer
Part 2: For the second part of this assignment, you will explain when negotiation is appropriate. Please explain the following points:
• When you should negotiate (including a specific example)
• When you should not negotiate (including a specific example)
• When mutual adjustment occurs and what part it plays in negotiations.
Part II: Occupational Health and Safety Unit I Essay
Throughout history, there have been workplace tragedies that helped to shape the field of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) as we know it today. For this assignment, you will choose one significant workplace tragedy. To complete the assignment, you will need to address the following items:
Summarize the tragedy you selected and how this event helped to improve workplace safety and health today.
Compare and contrast the safety and health regulatory environment existing at the time of the tragedy with that of today.
Identify existing OSH regulatory and/or consensus standards that have likely helped to prevent a similar tragic event.
Part III: Scholarly Activity
For this course, you will be required to complete a research paper that will have a rough draft due in Unit V and a final version due in Unit VII. You will also be required to choose a topic of interest and research how the study of attitudes is applied within this area. Your research paper will contain at least three peer-reviewed articles as well as information to be learned in the units ahead. Articles chosen for this paper should apply directly to attitude research and your topic.
To begin this assignment, you will first need to select and identify a topic that you will use to write a research paper throughout this course.
Next, you will need to address the following concepts:
Define the term attitude,
Discuss the chosen topic and how it relates to attitude and attitude change,
Explain how attitude affects decision-making in your life and the lives of those around you,
Explain how research in your topic has affected attitude psychology, and
Discuss any anticipated issues that may arise from choosing this topic. For example, it may be difficult to find research, or your topic may need to be narrowed.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
