Problem: The public health burden of cancer as a disease is directly correlated to prevention and early detection strategies. (A) Discuss how public health can further decrease the burden of cancer, by recommending additional or other prevention strategies that decrease risk factors associated with cancer disease. (In other words, what have we NOT tried to decrease risk factors that will decrease the cancer burden?) (B) Similarly, discuss potential "other" screening methods for early detection of a specific type of cancer. (Recall the cancer biology we discussed in class and the molecular mechanisms by which cancer evolves.)
