Problem:
Critical criminology takes a different approach. Critical criminology as focusing on how laws and the criminal justice system are influenced by power, inequality, and social conflict. (Hagan & Daigle, 2023) Critical criminology questions whether certain groups are treated differently and whether the system benefits those in positions of power. DeKeseredy and Dragiewicz (2018) explain that this perspective looks at issues like race, class, and gender, and how they influence both crime and how laws are enforced. Today there is a huge discussion around racial disparities in policing and in incarcerations. As more and more data is collected, this will continue to be debated. Need Assignment Help?
