Overview
Organizations have processes for converting people into organizational members with acceptable attitudes and behaviors. In criminal justice organizations, members are recruited who will "fit" the organizational model. New team members are then sent to a formal training academy where they are instructed on policies and procedures. Upon graduating from the academy, the new team members are subjected to an informal socialization process imposed by peers attempting to influence the organizational culture.
