Problem:
While we generally think that health professionals (e.g., doctors, nurses, medical assistants, medical researchers, etc.) have an obligation to act in ways that benefit patients, the truth is that health and healthcare are wrought with controversial issues where professionals might not know what is "right" and what is "wrong." In this course, we will be tackling a number of these issues and discussing (and trying to understand) opposing views on these issues. We'll kick things off with a brief discussion assignment to get you in the right frame of mind.
For this discussion post, you will find an article on a bioethics issue of your choice and briefly discuss the "sides" of the issue as presented in the article. Choose a topic (and feel free to use this resourceLinks to an external site. for ideas!) and find an article published by a reputable source that discusses a case related to that topic. Try to find a recent article (published within the last 5 years) if you can, and try to avoid research journals (i.e., see if you can find something published in a mass media outlet - think large newspapers or reputable TV/radio news stations). Once you've found your article, your discussion post will summarize what you found.
Your submission this week can be in the form of video, audio, or text. Your submission will require the following:
- Identify the topic of your chosen article. Need Assignment Help?
- Describe the content of your article and how it relates to your topic (and don't forget to provide an APA-style citation!) Use APA Style citation
- Describe the different "sides" of your topic, if discussed in the article. Use a 500 Words and one Resource. Make sure don't use chatgpt or AI
