I agree with the perspective that fear is a great motivator to avoid health outcomes. I believe that you can benefit from being afraid. It is known that cancer is becoming more and more of an issue over the last several years. When they read about the symptoms of these cancers, they will become fearful when they develop a symptom that is associated with a specific cancer. By having fear of developing cancer because of a symptom you had, it will make them go to the doctor and be checked out. Going to the doctor early, could mean that you would catch the cancer early if you did develop it or it may simply be a calming factor to hear the doctor say you are healthy. Having fear could help save your life and prevent you from becoming worse.
