How example of gentrification seen in places like brooklyn

Problem: A real life example of gentrification can be seen in places like Brooklyn, New York. Over the years, neighborhoods such as Williamsburg were once more affordable and made up of working class families and small local businesses. As more investors and higher income residents moved in, the area started to change. Rent prices increased a lot, and many long time residents were pushed out because they could not afford to stay. At the same time, new restaurants, shops, and apartments were built, making the area more modern and attractive to outsiders. While this brought in money and development, it also caused a loss of the original culture and community that had been there for years. This shows how gentrification can improve a neighborhood on the outside, but still have serious social effects on the people who originally lived there.
