How each of the three chosen passage illustrates its theme

Problem

"Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" is laced with many important themes about humanity: loyalty, honesty, values and self-reflection/self-inventory of those values, courage/bravery, faith/religious beliefs, chivalry, reciprocity (giving/receiving), male/female roles, superior/subordinate roles, renewal/forgiveness, humility, forgiveness, human flaws, and more.

Pick two to three of the above themes (or substitute the above themes or theme with any I have neglected to include), and find three corresponding passages in "Sir Gawain" that correspond to each theme. Explain how each of the three chosen passages illustrates its theme.

1. Each passage should be approximately 10-20 lines.

2. Quote the passage by page number AND line numbers. Example: (160-161; 842-859)

3. You do not have to annotate the passages (i.e. a line-by-line interpretation); rather, please provide more of a wholistic analysis of how each passage reflects its theme.

Note I: Remember, include textual evidence from the poem to support your answers. Don't fall into the trap of "creating" something that isn't there. Look at the poem's lines carefully with your eye on the literary devices we have covered thus far.

Note II: When including quotes from poetry, use a backslash to indicate when the lines break in the poem, and include the line numbers in the parenthetical/in-text citation.
