Where do we draw the line between stereotypes being helpful vs. stereotypes being harmful? In the discussion below provide an example of both helpful stereotype and a harmful one. For example, keeping your doors locked on the "wrong" side of town is way of protecting yourself from possible harm. However, it does imply that only criminals live on that side of town. How does that make the innocent, law-abiding citizen feel that lives in that area?
