Where do you draw the line between stereotypes being helpful vs. stereotypes being harmful? In the discussion below provide an example of both a helpful stereotype and a harmful one. For example, keeping your doors locked on the "wrong" side of town is a way of protecting yourself from possible harm. However, it does imply that only criminals live on that side of town. How does that make the innocent, law- abiding citizen feel that lives in that area?
