A utilitarian would argue that juveniles are only caused pain and suffering, even without the death penalty. They have no chance to turn their lives around when sentenced to life without parole. A utilitarian would also argue that juveniles produce a lot of pain and suffering for their victims, so they should be punished as such. The interesting thing is that a utilitarian can look at both sides: the pain caused to the offender and the victim.
