This is the topic have to write about this. In 1750, most colonists in North America thought of themselves as British in the larger British Empire. They were generally happy and considered themselves the freest people in the Western Hemisphere. By 1776, however, the colonies were at war with Britain, and many colonists supported the creation of a new independent nation. How do you explain this transformation? You should cover at least the period from 1750 to 1776, though may want to discuss events prior to 1763 as well.
