Digital marketing has opened up different learning opportunities through social media. For instance, I come across ads on TikTok that promote study apps or grammar-helping tools. I've also noticed that most of the content I'm exposed to is related to the field I'm interested in. I come across videos that include tips and experiences of those in medical settings.
Many social media platforms now include digital ads; however, most of the digital ads I have come across are from TikTok. About three years ago, TikTok introduced a new feature to the app called "TikTok shop", where creators and businesses have the opportunity to sell their products in order to reach a wider audience and drive sales. The videos that pop up on my TikTok page are algorithm-based on which videos I view or like most; with that being said, the same goes for product promotion. The other day, I searched up "recommended acne treatments" because I wanted to try something new in my face routine. Later that day, multiple videos showed up promoting different acne products. I ended up purchasing one of them due to the number of good reviews and the credibility of the brand.
Usually, I don't mind ads; therefore I can tolerate many platforms that include ads. However, I have purchased a subscription when it comes to Netflix, because I keep getting interrupted with ads while watching my movies and shows. I think it's strategic for streaming platforms to place ads in places like this; it almost forces the user to want to purchase the subscription service that eliminates the ads. Need Assignment Help?

Digital marketing has had a big impact on the learning opportunities I am exposed to, especially through social media and video platforms. Many times, I come across educational content that is actually promoted or sponsored. For example, I've seen ads for online courses, study apps, and even tutorials that teach skills like budgeting, parenting tips, or career advice. Because of digital marketing, I am introduced to information I may not have searched for on my own, which can expand my knowledge. However, it can also be distracting because not all promoted content is truly helpful or reliable.
A recent digital ad I viewed was for a self-care and wellness brand on social media. The ad caught my attention because it was relatable and visually appealing. I ended up clicking on the creator's page and watching more of their content, but I did not purchase anything. The reason is because while the product looked good, I wanted to make sure it was something I truly needed and not just something I was influenced to want in the moment.
Yes, I know people, including myself, who have purchased subscription services to avoid ads, like paying for ad-free streaming. The main reason is convenience and a better experience without interruptions. It also helps me stay focused, especially when I am trying to watch something educational or complete schoolwork without distractions.
