Individual Assignment: Personal and Professional Development Plan

For this assignment, you will complete the second part of your PPDP: your action plan. The action plan will build on the goals you developed in Unit 4. The Personal and Professional Development Plan template found in the unit resources provides more guidance for this assignment.

To complete your Individual Assignment:

- Use the PPDP template in the unit readings to complete your action plan.

- By the end of the unit, submit in a single document Parts 1 and 2 of your PPDP (Values, Principles and Goals, and Your Action Plan) to your Faculty Member for feedback.

Submit your Individual Assignment to your Faculty Member for feedback. Be sure to submit by the end of this unit in order to receive feedback. Contact your Faculty Member for permission to submit an assignment early, or to submit an assignment after the end of the unit.

To complete your Individual Assignment, do the following:

1. Please complete the Individual Assignment in a single Word document and submit between Day 6 and 7 of the second week of Unit 5.

2. Use the DRAFT Turnitin link for the Unit 5 Individual Assignment, accessed via the Turnitin page on the Module Menu, to check your assignment for accidental plagiarism before submitting it.

3. To upload your Individual Assignment, click on Individual Assignments Submission on the Module Menu, and then click the "Unit 5 - Individual Assignment Turnitin" link.

Final Project Preparation: Reflective Journal

In this Unit, continue writing in your Reflective Journal about your thoughts and reactions to the learning resources, activities, and assignments related to your PPDP and about how you will take your goals and action plan forward in your career.

When reflecting on your PPDP, consider what you have learned from your planning and how you can put it into practice as a tool in your ongoing development. Consider how your development could be more effective for you by identifying positive and negative learning points. What do you feel you have gained from this exercise, and how could it have been improved?

For this unit's Reflective Journal entry, write 2-3 paragraphs that address the following questions:

- How did the experience of completing a PPDP make you think about your goals differently?

- What did the readings and Shared Activities contribute to your thinking about your own goals and action plan?

- How important is it for a leader to set goals, plan actions, and reflect on progress toward goals? Which skills does a leader need in order to accomplish this?

- Do you feel it is beneficial to accomplish your goals on your own or with help from a network of people? Why or why not?

You do not need to submit anything in this unit; you will compile your Reflective Journal entries into a Reflective Portfolio in Unit 6 as one element of your Final Project.
