How did it impact you at work or school

Problem

How have you dealt with the isolation of illness?

An illness narrative is essentially a short story about a time when you have been sick. However, your narrative doesn't have to be limited to just your experiences of that sickness. Consider some of the following questions as you develop your narrative. But do not write your answers that is merely a response to them:

1) How did that sickness interest with your life at home or in the neighborhood?
2) How did it impact you at work or school?
3) How di it separate you from friends and family?
4) Did Strangers address your illness in any way?
5) Did you find commonality with others suffering from the same sickness? Or were you primarily alone?
6) How did your illness, and people's response to it, change how you looked at yourself?

Remember, a narrative is a story, so to meet this requirement you'll have to tell a story. That means showing. Don't just tell what happened and expect your readers to be engaged. Show us. Consider the author Joan Didion's, David Sedaris's, Nancy Mairs as models for the kind of narrative you should write.
