How covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a discontinuity

Problem: Respond to student: The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a discontinuity in the lives of young adults in the most delicate years of cognitive and socioemotional development. Early adulthood is a time of building a career, good relationships, and independence, yet because of the pandemic, people lost their jobs, their education was interrupted, and they were socially isolated, which delayed all these successes. Studies show that the level of psychological distress, anxiety, and depression among young adults increased more than during the pandemic without the pandemic, and the mental well-being decreased considerably during the initial outbreaks (Wiedemann et al., 2022). Moreover, they have cited lifestyle changes, such as a decline in physical activity and deteriorated sleep quality, which cause health risks in the long term (Czenczek-Lewandowska et al., 2021). Despite these challenges, young adults have strengths up to this point. They were accustomed to digital interaction, and it allowed them to maintain a social circle, adapting to distance learning and work, which some researchers argue reduced loneliness and enabled them to be more resilient (Juvonen et al., 2022). Their technical fluency and cognitive adaptability may assist the generation to adapt to the economic changes and rebuild their career in the post-pandemic world. Need Assignment Help?
