Currently, in the private sector, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a woman typically makes 87 percent of the wage a man makes in a similar position with similar responsibilities. There are some individuals who state that women are more expensive to employ, primarily due to women being the bearer of children and the extended time off typically required after the birth of a child. However, there are others who state that this constitutes a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment, asserting that women should be paid the same pay as men with similar positions and similar responsibilities. Even with the Equal Pay Act of 1963, signed into law by then-President John Kennedy, we still see these disparities in pay between the genders.
Hence, the question I have for you for this thread is as follows:
