Describe a situation where effective supply chain management has either helped organizational success or hurt organizational performance? Discuss the role that supply chain relationships played (or may have played) in the situation.
How can effective supply management contribute to organizational success?
Give/list reasons why the following financial performance indicators are useful to management: Asset turnover ratio, profit margin, return on investments. Then, consider Figure 1.3 (page 14) and explain why a small percentage decrease in costs provides a greater boost in ROI to this example firm. Describe a type of firm where this relationship might be different? (Hint: consider firms from different industries that would have different financial structures).

Consider Figure 1.6 (p18). The authors assert that supplier relationships change as a firm progresses towards World Class supply management. Why do you think that is? What other portions of the figure are supportive of that idea?
