In your original post, discuss your reaction to Sumner's application of Darwinism to society, or Social Darwinism. Consider how this attitude toward survival within a society may have impacted your life, or the life of your ancestors. Has society progressed forward because we chose not to adopt the basic tenets of Social Darwinism, or has society spiraled downward? Would you describe ours as a just society?
