How art is greatest which conveys to the mind of spectator

Problem:

Agree with a classmate's post. Explain why, in detail, and add new information or evidence.  Provide textual support (quotes with in-text citations).

What Ruskin means when he states, "that the art is greatest which conveys to the mind of the spectator, by any means whatsoever, the greatest number of the greatest ideas", Is that within every piece of art it tells something different and that good art is open to interpretation. What someone might think about a piece of art may be completely different to someone else. It is a broad scale and in Ruskin's analogy of it all is that if art makes you think than it's a great piece.
