How are financial trades made on an organized exchange?
Every exchange-listed security is traded at a precise location on the trading floor called the post. The trading is managed by specialists who act either as dealers (buying or selling the stock themselves) or as brokers (bringing together buyers and sellers). Famous international securities exchanges comprise the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and major exchanges in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Mexico, Paris, Tokyo, London, and Hong Kong.
