How a neurotransmitter or combination of neurotransmitters

Problem

I. Write six to seven sentences about how a neurotransmitter or combination of neurotransmitters of your choice (e.g., dopamine, glutamate, serotonin, many others, etc) relates to activity in daily life. For this work, you may use examples beyond your textbook or class materials, yet please be sure to cite outside sources with a brief References section if you do.

II. Give a response to the following thoughts:

i. Dopamine is described as, "a critical modulator of both learning and motivation." (Berke 2018). One example of dopamine affects our daily life is when we cave into desserts and junk food. This activity releases dopamine in the brain due to the fact that it is a pleasurable activity. One quote also states that" dopamine provides a dynamic estimate of whether it is worth expending a limited internal resource, such as energy, attention, or time"(Berke 2018). Typically, when we eat the foods that we enjoy, we are able to then decide to put our time, energy, and attention into eating and enjoying the delicious food.

ii. It is no question the neurotransmitters are apart of our daily life but how does it play a role in our daily life. According to ("How Neurotransmitters Work and What They Do," n.d.) "Billions of neurotransmitter molecules work constantly to keep our brains functioning, managing everything from our breathing to our heartbeat to our learning and concentration levels." Basically neurotransmitters controls the two most important parts in our body to the brain. Neurotransmitters also has a effect on feelings like fear, mood, pleasure, and joy. Also when neurotransmitters don't work right things like Alzhimers, epilepsy, and Parkinson's can happen. So you can see how much of a big role neurotransmitters has on our daily life.
