homolysis bond fission or homolytici in homolysis

Homolysis bond fission or Homolytic

(i) In homolysis bond, the covalent bond is broken in such a way that every resulting species gets its own electron. This is apt to the creation of odd electron species termed as free radical.

(ii) The factor that favors Homolytic is that the variation in electronegativity among A and B is less or zero.

(iii) Homolysis operates in gaseous phase/stage or in the existence of non polar solvents (CCl4,CS2), peroxide, UV light, heat (> 500° c), electricity and free radical.

(iv) technique of the equation in which homolysis takes place is termed as homolytic mechanism or free radical mechanism.
