You may use a combination of academic references, newspaper articles and organizational websites to find your information for this essay. Structure of Assignment Essay:

Part A – Background information: Generally describe your chosen population and define the context of your topic area (e.g., females living in correctional facilities; youth living in isolated communities; older men living in care facilities, etc.). Base your information on a current literature review.

Part B – Recreation benefits: Identify and analyze the recreation benefits, as identified by the current literature, applicable to the population in the specific context.

Part C – Recreation constraints: Identify and analyze the recreation constraints, as identified by the current literature, applicable to the population in the specific context.

Important Note: Make sure to describe constraints and benefits that are specific to recreation and leisure and not general constraints the people in the context of your topic area experience.

In your essay, use at least 6 current (not older than 10 years unless you provide historic information) references of which 4 need to be academic references (peer reviewed journals or books) and other references (e.g., newspaper articles, government websites etc.) in support of your critical analysis. If you do not use 4 different academic references you will be deducted 4 marks. Use APA 6th ed., as your referencing style.
