I am interested in helping people in my community, especially single mothers. I would like to support them mentally by encouraging them and helping them deal with stress and everyday challenges. I also want to find ways to help them financially by connecting them to jobs, support programs and other useful resources. Another important interest of mine is encouraging them to further their education so they can improve their future and create better opportunities for themselves and their families. Overall, I want to help them feel supported and guide them toward the resources they need.
As a community worker, I expect to face some challenges when working with different people. Many clients may come from different backgrounds, with different beliefs and experiences, which can sometimes make communication difficult. Some people may also feel uncomfortable asking for help or may not trust services right away. Limited resources in the community can also make it hard to support everyone who needs help. In addition, I will need to be careful when handling personal information and make sure I treat everyone fairly and respectfully.
In the community, I would take on different helping roles. I could act as an advocate by helping single mothers and others find the services and support they need. I might also be a change agent by trying to improve conditions in the community. At times, I would give advice and guidance, like an adviser or consultant. I would also help bring people together and encourage them to support each other, using the strengths already in the community.
