First Aid is the immediate medical assistance to an injured person until definitive medical treatment can be accessed. If someone just needs a band aid or something minor. After reading this article it reminds me of the UTMC ways to prevent health disease. "Public health and general preventive medicine focuses on promoting health, preventing disease, and managing the health of communities and defined populations. In all areas of preventive medicine, the emphasis is on prevention rather than treatment." (UT medical center, 2015).
You can either prevent it or treat it. Why not prevent something from happening then have to treat it after it happens.
