NUMMI Case Study
In 1984, General Motors (GM) and Toyota opened NUMMI as a joint venture in California. The venture was dissolved and the NUMMI plant was finally closed after GM declared bankruptcy in 2009. After listening to the material (approx 60 min), write a report (there is no word limit) regarding causes of GM’s failure to introduce the lessons learnt from the NUMMI venture across other factories in the GM network. The report should be focused on the examination and analysis of the specific issues presented in the case study/podcast. Grading the report will be based on the completeness of your analysis, the clarity of your logic and arguments.
