Question: Go to a U. S. business (store, bank, service business) in your community. Ask what limitations the owners faced in starting their business. Which were limitations imposed by government? Which were limitations of the market place (competing business and/or financial requirements)? Were the government limitations necessary? Should there have been more or fewer limitations? Under what heading for government intervention would you put each of the limitations? Ask what kind of taxes the business pays, and what benefits the owners believe they get for those taxes. Are they satisfied with the existing situation? Why: What would they change?
