Future careers in law enforcement

Assignment:

There are three different interviews so lets  say that you are a police sergeant in a large department and you are  required to write me as chief a report detailing the facts and  subsequent action taken by you. In your report be detailed and explain  what you did and why.

As  a bit of realistic practice we will pretend these are actual police  reports. In every police department I know, they have a certain format  that is followed to keep everything uniform. For example: Reports always  start with either Sir or Ma'am or Chief, Captain, Lieutenant or some  other description of rank followed by the addressee's name. Reports end  with the words Respectfully Submitted or some other salutation followed  by your name, rank and possibly ID or employee number. They should be  factual in nature and written in the first person. Generally speaking  police reports will not include your opinion on matters unless  specifically requested. it is important to remember that in most states,  99% of all written police reports will become public records eventually  and therefore subject to a Freedom of Information Act or other type of  public records request. In other words when working in your future careers in law enforcement, write your reports as if the entire world  might be reading them on the front page of the newspaper.

Your answer must be, typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman font (size 12), one-inch margins on all sides, APA format.
