Problem: The fundamental principles found in corporate codes of conduct include integrity, objectivity, competence and due care, confidentiality, and professional behavior. These principles are equally important when it comes to running a business and its central operations because in a way, all of these functions are intertwined and if one function fails, they will all inevitably fail. For instance, if an auditor was to breach client confidentiality, then not only will confidentiality fail, but so would integrity and objectivity. The same logic would apply to all aspects of a business which is why all aspects of the code of conduct should be followed diligently and with due care.
