If Va is increased the collector to emitter voltages of both transistor are also increased. Hence the leakage current at J2 increase. This leakage current is the collector current of transistor Tr2. It means with the increase in IC2 IC1 Increased any this causes α1 + α2 tends to unity which is responsible to turn on the thyrisotr.
