Capacities of power plant 1 and 2 are 1000 and 2200 megawatts per day, respectively. Daily demands for factories are 1500 megawatts for factory 1, 750 megawatts for factory 2, and 750 megawatts for factory 3. Electricity transmission costs from power plant 1 to factory 1, 2, and 3 are $50, $100, and $60 ($/megawatts), respectively. Electricity transmission costs from power plant 2 to factory 1, 2, and 3 are $30, $20, and $35 ($/megawatts), respectively. Formulate the problem as an LP to satisfy the total demand at a minimum total cost?
