Opening Statement for the Plenary Session

Gathering here today gives us the opportunity to explore various aspects required in XIX International AIDS Conference. We at the UNAIDS (United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS) are proud to support and be part of XIX International AIDS Conference as we facilitate the implementation of different agenda this year based on the control of HIV/AIDS. We as an organization are committed to supporting and ensure the goals of the conference implements to ensure progress in science and medicine while combating and controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS (Walensky, 2015).

The support of UNAIDS facilitates the development of adoptive and proactive measures that enable for the support and goal concentration of various treatment procedures of HIV/AIDS. The organization will facilitate the use of preventative methods such as Antiretroviral used in the treatment of HIV/AIDS. The members associated with UNAID aim at providing and advocating for world action against the spread of HIV/AIDS to enable for the control of the disease in various regions of the world. The goals developed and implemented by the organization assists in controlling the effects of the disease in the various region of the world because of the ability to reach and provide education on ways of handling the disease in regions and people affected by the disease.

The plan action developed by UNAIDS and other important stakeholders address the goals of Millennium development which assist in controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS in different regions of the world. Besides, UNAIDS advocate for free supply of ARVs in different regions of the world to allow for treatment of HIV/AIDS while again educating the public on the best methods of prevention (Walensky, 2015). The use of ARVs assists in preventing or reducing the risk of mother to child prevention and partner-to-partner infection by giving quality services to the infected as part of the main agenda developed by UNAIDS in the elimination of HIV/AIDS. Let us all promote and advocate for the development of preventative measures that promote epidemic control of HIV/AIDS. Therefore, I advocate that all of you support UNAIDS in the implementation of programs that assists in the prevention and spread of HIV/AIDS. Thank you.

Plan of Action

The plan of action addresses the millennium development goals based on the control of HIV/AIDS across the world. UNAIDS aims at promoting education that focuses on prevention measures while allowing the use of ARVs in various regions of the world to curb the spread of HIV/AIDs across the world (Fauci, Folkers & Dieffenbach, 2013). Additionally, the plan entails the development and creation of facilities in different regions of the world, which offer free education on ways of preventing the disease while offering free ARVs in the region to reduce the spread and cases of HIV/AIDS in the world. Besides, the plan of action aims at distributing condoms and educating the public on the ways of using the condoms.

Education assists in managing epidemiology and prevention by focusing on the population of a region and implementing strategies that explore public health treatments in controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS in the regions (De Cock, Jaffe & Curran, 2012). The use of epidemiology as an action plan for the prevention of HIV/AIDS gives opportunities for distribution of drugs within manageable levels that assist in controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS in various regions of the word. Additionally, UNAIDS will be able to manage the distribution of condoms and ARVs in various regions of the world because of control of the population through epidemiology. Besides, social and economic issues assist in managing the effects of the HIV/AIDS in society (De Cock, Jaffe & Curran, 2012). UNAID aims at improving the social circles of the youth by encouraging the youths to participate in Agricultural activities as social groups as part of an action plan with the aim of reducing the chances of the youth idleness and hence engagements in unprotected sex. Economic factor as part of action plan entails development of businesses and income generating programs such as Agriculture to engage people to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.
The developments of facilities that educate the public on the effects of HIV/AIDs require the use of policies and programs that control the development and spread of the disease. The Millennium development goals policies and programs such as work ethics and public health policies assist in controlling the effects of HIV/AIDS in regions and at work places. Fauci, Folkers & Dieffenbach (2013) argues that the programs and the policies uphold high ethics at work and in public places to minimize incidences of HIV/AIDs.
