Find the volume of the system at state three


Water in a piston-cylinder assembly with an initial volume of 0.01m3 has an initial temperature of 120C and an initial quality of 0.4 (State 1). The water is heated at constant pressure to a temperature of 200C (State 2). The water is then compressed at constant temperature until the first droplet of liquid water starts to condense (State 3).

Find:

a) States on T-v diagram
b) Mass of water (kg) in cylinder
c) Work(kJ) from State 1-2 and heat transfer (kJ) from State 1-2 for the constant pressure heat transfer process.
d) Find the volume of the system at State 3.
