Find a case related to the rights of indigenous people. This can be a case brought to a treaty body (e.g., CESCR, Human Rights Committee), national courts, or other fora. Summarize the case, controversy or contested claims. Who are the relevant parties and what are their interests or claims. To which part of the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP) or other international treaty/covenant/agreement does the case apply, if any?
If the case has been resolved, explain how and provide your own view on whether or not justice had been served. If the case has not been resolved, explain the current state of the case, its likely future, and your own view on whether or not just has been served. What would constitute a just resolution? Finally, offer any additional comments or considerations your might have regarding the protection of the rights of indigenous peoples in a world where nation-states dominate and where globalization and industrialization appear to be the dominant trends.
