Write a formal essay on a topic connected to your own interest in the field of language testing and assessment. The essay should address in some way one or more topics raised during the course of the module, or a related topic which falls broadly into the field of language testing and assessment. The rationale for this essay should clearly indicate the relevance of the discussion to your own teaching and testing context. You can, but you don’t have to, provide examples of items/tasks or a section of the test on which your arguments are built. As with other essays you have written on your MA, in this essay you should provide a relevant theoretical background to your discussion,
• give a clear account of the nature of the testing/assessment situation you wish to focus
• on and the test-takers involved (this should be relatively brief) and link the theoretical discussion to examples from your practice in this context
• what implications this discussion has for issues of language testing and assessment
