Effects of social media on understanding and evaluating important arguments in society.
What are some specific aspects of how social media has influenced our individual and collective abilities to critically think our way through the complex social problems of the day. To be clear, in this essay you are not necessarily being asked to take a side on a particular issue and defend it, but rather to examine how social media has made it easier or more difficult (or both) for us to navigate an increasing complex and divided world in ways that are meaningful, collaborative, and productive.
Express how your views on the role of social media in the curation/development of critical thinking skills have changed since you began this project. In other words, how has your thinking changed or developed since you began your research on this topic? Will you alter anything about how you use and interact with social media platforms as a result of your research? Why or why not?
