Explain why our kidneys start to keep the bicarbonate

Problem: Answer this discussion question from classmate

Hey Francoise, I really liked how you connected the PaCO2 to hypoventilation and then went on to explain why our kidneys start to keep the bicarbonate. I also appreciated how you talked about cautiously titrating O2 because if given too much O2 it can cause difficulties in the CO2 retention with those who have chronic COPD (Hinkle et al., 2025). How do you feel about those with severe COPD using BiPAP to help with ventilation and lowering PaCO2 levels? Need Assignment Help?
