Purpose

For this activity, please complete all four steps in order, using the spaces provided in this document. Upload your completed document to the Critical Thinking Response Paper 1 Dropbox folder in the course. For Step Four, you will need to use the Florida Race-based Standards Discussion forum in the course.
Step One

Read the National Opportunity to Learn Campaign's article "Federal Complaint Against FL for Setting Lower Standards for Students of Color"
Step Three
Now that you have additional information about Florida's race-based standards, please read the Compass Points Instructions below. Then, on the followingCompass Points: Florida's Race-based Standards page, type your responses to the four prompts in the boxes provided.
Please be sure to answer each "compass point" (N, S, E, W) with at least 3-4 sentences. In other words, be sure to explain your thinking using the information that you viewed and read.
Step Four
Copy the text of your response to the Stance, Steps, or Suggestions (S) compass point. Then, go to the Florida Race-based Standards
Discussion forum in the course. Create a new thread, and paste the text of your response to the Stance, Steps, or Suggestions (S) compass point into the new thread, and post the thread to the forum.
